Hi all,

I'm trying to ascertain the projected yearly costs between two dates with a third criteria being a Yes Value in a different column but i just cannot get any formulae to work. Is it possible? The between two dates criteria works but when i add the third citeria it just adds a "'" to the start of the formulae. This is what I have with the broken third criteria:

=(SUMIFS(O$2:O402, P$2:P402, ">=01/08/2018", P$2:P402, "<=31/03/2019", A$2:A402, ”YES”)

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
You have the wrong type of quotes around Yes, they should be " rather than the sloping ”

That doesn't address the problem. ;)

It's returning a £00.00 value so it's doing something - but not what I want it to do! :sneaky:

what does it return without the YES condition

are the YES - yes and not with a space like ' YES ' or 'YES '

Without the Third criteria, "Yes", it returns the value between the two dates

i think we need to see a sample of the data

in a new cell, where you have YES in a row - for example say A2 does have YES in then
=A2="yes" and see if it returns a true - or copy down in the new column and see if you get a TRUE where there is a YES

Note: Images are difficult to see , and also requires that I input all the data myself, which means I may make an error, which is very time consuming, and from my point of view less likely to get a response, if a complicated spreadsheet. Plus we cannot see any of the formulas used.

Therefore -

A SMALL sample spreadsheet, around 10-20 rows, would help a lot here, with all sensitive data removed, and expected results mocked up and manually entered, with a few notes of explanation.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data and will allow us to copy/paste your sample data into our Excel spreadsheets, saving a lot of time.

You can also test to see if it works ok, in the "Test Here" forum.

OR if you cannot get XL2BB to work, or have restrictions on your PC

then put the sample spreadsheet onto a share

I only tend to goto OneDrive, Dropbox or google docs , as I'm never certain of other random share sites and possible virus.
Please make sure you have a representative data sample and also that the data has been desensitised, remember this site is open to anyone with internet access to see - so any sensitive / personal data should be removed

Make sure you set any share or google to share to everyone
