=sumproduct question

You guys have been enormously helpful in the past so I'm hoping you can assist me here.

How do I get sumproduct to work if, say:

if column a to row 99 = 1, column b to row 99 = 2, column c to row 99 =3, column d to row 99 = 4 then total column e to row 99?

Using the standard notation, I keep hitting a reply of 0?

Well that would be

=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A99=1),--(B1:B99=2),--(C1:C99=3),--(D1:D99=4),E1:E99)

I think I understood question right...

=SUMPRODUCT((A1:A99=1)*(B1:B99=2)*(C1:C99=3)*(D1:D99=4),E1:E99)
