How do I automatically tab from say B3 to F3 without having to tab through C3, D3 and E3? That is, when I'm in cell B3, if I hit the tab key, I'm automatically taken to F3?

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
you could use the protect worksheet and not allow yourself to select locked cells... but that seems pretty extreme....

Not sure how else you could do it really.

You can select the cells that you want to have the Tab order (you can select multiple non-contiguous cels with Ctrl+Left-Click), then goto Format-->Cells-->Protection and uncheck the Locked check box.

Now when you protect the sheet you'll have your Tab order.

Smitty,

Thanks for your Excel leadership. I attended your talk at the Orlando IMA conference in June.
I have a similar problem to this post's issue and will probably create a separate post. I've already posted on Ozgrid, but since I got no responses yet, I'm asking in response to this post about Tab Order.

Have you seen where this technique does not work as intended? I have a form (not a true Excel form as such) that I choose the fields in order with CTRL-Left-Click, then Format>Cells>Unlocked and turn on worksheet protection. First of all, the tab order does not follow the order in which I selected the cells. Then, I get to a certain predictable two cells (not at the end of the series) and tabbing just results in toggling between the two cells. It will not advance past these two cells. What might be the cause? It would sure be simpler if this technique would work instead of the complicated VBA macros I'm trying to employ to get around this problem 9and which aren't working either).

Thanks,
Chris
