I have a spreadsheet of my inventory that is broken down into individual account. I need to tally up how many desktops and how many laptops each account has. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Muya,

Have a look at the Help function searching for
"Pivot Table".

It has a feature tutorial that gives you an
overveiw of what a pivot table can report !!!!!!

It is a very useful inventory application !!!!!!!

I've tried this and i know it should work. but i can't get past specifying the range it needs to look at.

i have this: =SUMIF(DESKTOPS!B7:B705,1000)

where 1000 is the account number(criteria).

=SUMIF(A2:A6,E2,B2:B6)
in G2 copied down;
=SUMIF(A2:A6,E2,C2:C6)
