Haven't found anything in Word help on this and I'm hoping someone here will have an answer.

I select a piece of text.
Select FORMAT/BORDERS & SHADING.
APPLY TO: Text.
Try to select a single border line only (right, left, bottom, it doesn't matter).
Word seems to insist on putting a complete border around my selected text.

Any idea why it insists on changing my selection?

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
Thanks Starl.
Not quite the answer I was looking for but I guess I have to live with it.

sorry it wasn't better news.. just like MS to advertise something non-existant

Hey - just noticed your up in Winnipeg - LOVE it up there!!! Esp. the Forks - I think rebuilding that area is a great idea.
Always stay in walking distance  Been up there twice for the culture festival.

The Forks is actually only about 3 blocks from where I work. It's always nice to take a walk over there at lunch and see what's going on... in the summer time... when it's not raining... Oops. Sorry. Don't get me started on the weather this past "summer".

Glad to hear you enjoy it up here. It's really not as bad a place as some would make it out to be.

Are you kidding - once you get to the Northern part of the city, it's quite beautiful! my fav is the french quarter - there's a little bakery there owned by a french couple - always have to load up when we visit. Then, there's the restaurant in the old train.. my mind is stuck right now... but GREAT food.

But the Forks - that's a great idea and I've noticed cities around here doing the same, tho not as great and fun as the Forks - not near the variety and size.

Now we just have to get you up here in January. That's usually the time the negative publicity starts come out. :)
We do come up with some interesting ways to keep warm though.
