text in a cell

How do I type a lot of text in a small cell? I have seen cells with a triangle in the corner indicating there is more text, but i dont know the formula for doing that.

Welcome to the forums!

I believe that you are meaning cell comments. Right click on the cell and click "insert comment". It is completely separate from the value actually stored in the cell.

This sounds like there is a comment in the cell.

Right click the cell, and click on Edit Comment

Then add information.

You can grab (click on) the circles surrounding the comment box, and resize the box.

When you are done, just click in a different cell.
