I have several image files (.bmp) with Arial Font text (black on white).
I am trying to parse them into an ascii file. However I cannot figure out how to do this via VBA. Can it be done? Or is there a program out there that can do it?

I think you'd need an Optical Character Recognition (OCR) program for that. I'm sure you can do the searching on that, none of it looks too pretty though.

Well that ought to get me started at least. I was trying to search on image to text and getting nowhere :)

Edit:
That was the exact right phrase to search on. I found freeware program, but I found it's error rate was too high. But then a friend's husband suggested I trying using Adobe's Print driver to print to a pdf (Print-to-file was not available.) And viola! Converted it on to text and life was good.
