Text to time

I know I have fixed this in the past, but I can't remember how I did it. This should be any easy one for you guys:

I have a report that gives me a time in text format (7:15 am). I need to do some calculations from the time and I'm struggling with converting into something I can work with.

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
you can format it as custom number [H]:mm:ss if you right click on it. You should be able to use that format to add up

Yea, I forgot to mention some of the data looks like this: 7:13 am and 7:13 AM the formatting work on the data that is not CAPS LOCKED

I'm hoping for a formula solution. I wanting to make a template that someone just posts data into.

7:13 AM is a time and not text, the fact Excel is displaying it as is shows it's a time rather than text. Can you show what is actually in your cell and what you would like done with it?
