Hi. I'm building an inventory analysis took to help track, control, reduce inventories. I have series of slicers that are connected to multiple pivot tables. When I refresh all, I have no issues. When I change slicer selections, I frequently get an error "There's already data in [file]Tab. Do you want to replace it." I understand I can disable that error, but I hate to do that without understanding what's causing it.

My pivots are a set number of columns with nothing under them so they won't overlap when one data set is longer than the next. I've never gotten this error when I added data and refreshed. I only get the error if I play around with the slicer settings.

I do have formulas that retrieve data from the pivots to display as chart or sparkline, but that's updating, not overwriting, correct?

Any idea how I find root cause of the error so I know weather or not it's safe to turn it off before I release to users?

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
When you get that error with the slicer, decline to replace data. Then navigate to each associated PivotTable in turn, and try to make the same selection as per the slicer, but manually, and see which of the PivotTables is causing the problem.
