I have three computers on line when I leave town a couple of times the AC power was off longer then my ups (3) could carry the load.

I wanted to ask, is there a way I can come through the internet and reboot or start the computers when I'm out away from my home?

Hello Captain Randy,

It is possible to set your computer up for remote access through the internet. However, If the UPS are drained of power you will not be able to restart anything until Ac power is restored.

I have never my setup my computer to do this, primarily for security reasons. The Windows help files dealing with "remote access" should walk you through the process. Not sure about a cold restart being performed remotely though. Most computers have a "latch" that disables the AC power once it falls below a certain voltage. The user then has to manually power up the computer. This prevents AC surges like brown outs from destroying your computer.

Thank You very much Leith Ross. Your input has put me on a starting trail, I can see this will not be a one day fix. Oh well when you get up to my age you we want learn anything cause the other old part me always has a HONEY due list.
