The file attached below will save, but loose all formatting (only values remain). I don't know what I did but any content I copy out of my main database (14MB .xlsm) into any .xls file now refuses to retain color coding, border schemes, etc. and the only solution I found is to save as an .xlsx which isn't ideal. Why did this start happening all of a sudden? Hopefully someone can find out by examining the attached xls file. For example, add a yellow background to the first cell, insert 5 and bolden it and attempt to ctrl+s then re-open it. The background will be gone and boldness = false!

PS I just noticed it's 647KB so there's definitely something :eeek:

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
I think it has to do with the number of cell styles under the Ribbon button "Cell Styles". For some reason the file contains many, many styles. How can I delete them all?

All this information is stored inside each cell I'm copying into the xls files. How can I delete these styles but keep basic formatting such as font, foreground, background color, border, and cell value.
