i know that when you want a code to run from a workbook even with a changed filename etc use the command

thisworkbook

is there a similar one for making sure a macro runs from a specific sheet such as ???

If you want to make sure it is always the sheet that you think it is use the sheet's codename

With Sheet1

If you look in the VBE Project window you can find this, e.g. my sheet Data is shown as "Sheet11(Data)". If I rename or move that sheet its codename will still be Sheet11.

ok, the sheet with the macro will be a 'copy' from a master book so depending on what order they are copied in the codename could be anything.

how would i reference it if had any codename?

something like

dim shtnum as long

set sheetnum = activesheet.index


With sheet(sheetnum)

set sheetnum = nothing

If you have just copied the sheet it would always be ActiveSheet.
