so I have a list of dates like 25/07/2011 22:22 in column b and a list of dates in column c in the same format.

I want to get a the time difference in hours in column E but am unsure how to format the column?

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
afraid not,

that gave me the value 977998:22:13

when both values in B & C are 25/07/2011 22:22
