Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Which cells contain the DV and where should the timestamp go? Should a timestamp overwrite an existing timestamp?

Hi,
From column D onwards to infinity. The timestamp should can go either before or after the text selected from the datavalidations, the dateastamp once captured should not change

Thanks :-)

Maybe this: right click the sheet tab, select View Code and paste in

Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Column >= 4 Then
    Application.EnableEvents = False
    If Target.Offset(, 1).Value = "" Then Target.Offset(, 1).Value = Now
    Application.EnableEvents = True
End If
End Sub
