How to sum say(A's Score) for a said date say Today(16/1/2012)

You can use sumproduct, but if you have xl2007+ it is better to use SUMIFS(...
What version of excel do you have?

If your data is in A2:C24 and you use H2 to hold the name that you want to sum for, and use I2 to house the date that you want summed.

=SUMIFS($C$2:$C$24,$A$2:$A$24,H2,$B$2:$B$24,I2)

Then you must be looking for a name that has no entries for the selected date. Are your dates really dates or are they text that look like dates?

The Data is correct..i am looking for sum of (C's Column) for a said date(lessthan or equal to said date) and particluar names..

You didn't day yopu wanted a range of dates. This will give what you are now asking for, if you put the criteria date in I2.
=SUMIFS($C$2:$C$24,$A$2:$A$24,H2,$B$2:$B$24,"<="&I2)
