Hello, this may seem weird but I'm trying to get my sheet to give me the total number of minimum prices per column.
so if my sheet was
Store a store b store c
cheddar $10.98 $8.97 $5.99
eggs $3.98 $3.99 $3.49
milk $2.89 $2.89 $2.79
yogurts $7.99 $6.99 $7.17

I want the next row to calculate the total # of lowest prices. so it should look like this

Store a store b store c
cheddar $10.98 $8.97 $5.99
eggs $3.98 $3.99 $3.49
milk $2.89 $2.89 $2.79
yogurts $7.99 $6.99 $7.17
Total # 0 1 3

Does anyone know how to do this?

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
I couldn't see a way to do it without a helper column but try:

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 268pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=357><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=4 width=64><COL style="WIDTH: 76pt; mso-width-source: userset; Where the formula in the helper column is: =MATCH(MIN(B2:D2),B2:D2,0). The formula for the total is: =COUNTIF($E$2:$E$5,COLUMN()-1)

Does anyone know how to do this?
Let A1:D5 house the sample you posted, the headers included.

In E1 enter: Min

In E2 enter and copy down:

=MIN(B2:D2)

Either...

In B6 control+shift+enter and copy across:

=SUM(IF(B2:B5=$E$2:$E$5,1))

Or...

In B6 just enter and copy across:

=SUMPRODUCT((B2:B5=$E$2:$E$5)+0))

Try this...

Book1
ABCD
1Store astore bstore c
2cheddar10.988.975.99
3eggs3.983.993.49
4milk2.892.892.79
5yogurts7.996.997.17
6Totals013
Sheet1

Formula entered in B6 and copied across to D6:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(B2:B5=SUBTOTAL(5,OFFSET($B2:$C5,ROW(B2:C5)-ROW(B2),0,1,3))))
