is there a way i can transfer different data from other files or folders straight into the excel sheet i am working with for use for comparisons?. A macro would be the quickest way and most ideal. *

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
given the detail provided, only answer I can think of is 'yes'.

Perhaps you could specify the problem more explicitly...

well i hav a list of engineers in one column and the amount of "hours" they work each month in the column beside. I want to be able to transfer the "hours" from other files into the sheet i am working with to compare their working hours for different months. Each months working "hours" are saved on different excel sheets.
