Column H is "City, State and Zip"

Somehow when downloading this spreadsheet, there was a formatting error where for some rows, Column P has the "City, State and Zip" entries.

I need a formula that I can use for the entire Column H that will look at Column P and if there is data (City, State and Zip) in it, will transfer that data to Column H, and if there is nothing in Column P, then leave Column H "as is" with the data it already has in it.

Thanks,
Penny

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Hi Penny,

Formulas can't transfer data, nor can they exist simultaneously with static text. (e.g. in column H, which may already have data)

Might I suggest using an empty column (let's say Q) and use:

=IF(P1<>"",P1,H1)

Fill that down as many rows as you have data. Then, copy those values and use PasteSpecial > Values to paste it into column H. You can then delete the formulas in column Q (and probably the data in column P if it's no longer necessary).

Short of that, another option would be to use a macro.

Hi Penny,
You could try copying column p and using paste special to skip blanks and paste the values into column H

Hi Everyone,

What MVP said worked perfectly. I couldn't use a simple "copy" function and paste special with the exception of blanks because some rows had data. This worked out fine.

Thanks again,
So psyched!
