Transforming text into formulas

How to transform a cell (i.e. D2) that contains a text like "=A2*$B$1" into a real formula (one that displays the result of A2*B1)?

You will likely need to change the cell format from text to general or a number format. Do you have numerous cells you are trying to accomplish this on? If so you can probably write a macro to reformat all of the cells for you.
