Trouble uploading to Google Docs

I upload my spreadsheets to google docs to share the spreads without having to email attachments.

I can't upload my spreads because google says my documents exceed 400,000 cells. I think the problem is that many of the cells that I don't have any data in are being read as cells with data...perhaps because of highlighting, my attempts to delete the infinite columns, etc.

I tried to copy all the cells I want to store and keep by pasting them into a new spread but my formulas don't paste in...

Could anyone please tell me how to delete all the extra cells that may be creating unnecessary file size (because of highlighted and my attempt to delete unnecessary cells)? Anyone remember the function "set print area"?...is there any analogous way to set the area to be saved in a document?

Please and thank you a million times!!!

Amy
