Trying to count blank cell

Using excel 2010, trying to count blank cells in rows. Used =countblank (B51:BP51) which worked, but there are certain cells in the rows I don't want to count, having trouble with ranges. example =COUNTBLANK((B51:H51)+(N51:T51)+(Z51:AF51)+(AL51:AR51)+(AX51:BD51)+(BJ51:BP51)) tells me this formula has an error not sure what to do. tried looking for examples. Thanks
