Hello,

Recently installed "Office Home and Student 2010" in a computer with Windows XP OS. In EXCEL, I added the "Developer" tab to the ribbon and selected "enable all macros" in the Trust Center setting, but I am unable to access Visual Basic. Pressing {Alt + F11} does not work and the icons for the macro recorder are grayed out. Can anyone point me to what I am doing wrong?

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Welcome to the Board sounds as though part of the install didn't work, I would look to either reinstall or use the repair feature on the CD/DVD.

Be sure you are using an XLSM File and not an XLSX file (if it is an already saved file). Office 2007 and 2010 do not allow macros in xlsx files.

healey21, thanks for your suggestion. I tried the repair option first and it still didn't work. So I did a complete uninstall, rebooted, disabled my anti-virus software, then re-installed and it works (can now access VB). There wasn't any indication of a problem during my initial install, but at the time, I opted for the custom install and chose not to install the OneNote software. Decided to go with the standard package on the re-install. Thanks for your help.
