I have a table. I have a coloumn called "Ref" This should contain a unique ref ID for that row of data. i.e 901. I used the function =ROW() +900 but the problem is if i sort the table i.e "A - Z" & delete row etc then the ID's will change and won't be the same for certain record which means it wont be unique for that row. Any solutions?

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
One option if you don't want VBA and if this is a one-off issue...copy all of the rows that were created by the ROW function. Then, do a Paste - Special - Values.
