Hi,
I use Excel to create data to import into a database.
I then save the data as tab-delimited text for importing.
Some of the data includes commas. That is, I may have a cell containing:
Some text, some more text
However, when I export this to a tab-delimited file, is is exported as:
"Some text, some more text" (in quotes)
It then gets imported into the database with these quotes. Now I know that, ideally, I should avoid using punctuation in my data, but that is unavoidable for my purposes. One of my fields is a long statement where my clients may provide an entire paragraph of text.
Is there any way to avoid Excel saving this data with quotes ?
