Updating hyperlinks when sheets are renamed

Is it possible? I'm trying to set up a sort of table of contents for a workbook, but part of the current situation is that sheets would be renamed and pull the sheet name in as data in a cell. When this happens I can update the text on links to be that cell, but the hyperlinks don't seem to change to the new name so they stop functioning. Is this realistic? Any help is appreciated.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
If you name the cells that you want to hyperlink to and use that name in the hyperlink, it won't matter what the sheet name is.
