Is there a way to update cells that are locked? I want to give users free reign to two columns in a sheet. I want to programmatically update another two columns with their user name and a date/time stamp but wish to leave those cells locked so the names/dates are not changed.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
In your code you could unprotect the sheet, input the username and date stamp and then reprotect the sheet with the code?

Is that maybe waht you are looking for?

Hi schielrn,

I tried that initially but was concerned about the flickering each time a cell was updated. I forgot about disabling screen updating though. It runs quick enough where it is transparent to the user.

Thanks - Kev
