UPPER only

Can you format a cell or otherwise force it to display only upper case characters? Entry will be mixed alpha and numeric. I can't figure a way to use UPPER function since it references a cell and the entry will only be in the cell I want to format as upper. I know, there's always VB.

If VBA is out some some reason, the best you'll do is data validation to check that there are no uppercase letters in the string...

FYI,

the data validation route would be to validate on:

=EXACT(UPPER(A1),A1)
