I am trying to create a "Target Row" that will be the final row in a spreadsheet as determined by the result of a formula in a cell in the spreadsheet. I've been trying different ways to make "Target Row" equal to the value of the cell containing the formula but thus far I haven't succeeeded.

Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.

How do you intend to use this?

A1 = some formula that returns the number 10

=SUM(B1:INDEX(B:B,A1))

That formula will sum the range B1:B10.

Thanks for responding.

I should have been clearer. I'm trying to name the last (variable) row in my spreadsheet "Target Row" and to make "Target Row" equal to the result of a formula that is in a cell in the spreadsheet. Is there by chance a way to do that?

Sorry, I'm not following you on this.

It sounds like you're wanting to define the last row for use in VBA code?

If so, I can't be of much help with that.

Re: VBA - Use formula result to define row number

Yes, that's exactly what I'm attempting. I see I wasn't at all clear about that. Apologies, and thanks for trying to decipher my post. :)

Try starting a new thread and be explicit about wanting to do this with VBA.
