UserForm txtBox Question

I am using a user form and want to add & multiply certain text boxes and put the new value into a third txt box. I am having two problems so far.

If i have txtbox1=5 and txtbox2=8 when i try

txtbox3=txtbox1.value+txtbox2.value i get 58 instead of 10.

Second problem if i try

txtbox3=txtbox1.value+txtbox.value2 * 5 i get a error saying that it is mismatched. Any help would be welcome and thanks in advance.

try this

TextBox3 = Val(TextBox1) + Val(TextBox2)
