Hello,

I have two excel sheets that i am trying to copy information from one to the other using a macro. The problem i am having however is the file i need to open to copy information from is a daily report and the file name changes every day. I have a formula that creates the network address and file name that it needs to open and when i record the macro i copy then paste this into the open dialoge box, however when i change the date in my first sheet it still opens the file that it had when i recorded the macro.

Is there a way to copy and paste the filename into the open dialoge box that my formula creates each day? or tell it to open the file name that is in the cell on my first sheet?

-thanks

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Try this,

Code:
Sub test()
'assume the file name is stored in cell (1,1)
Var = Cells(1, 1).Value
Workbooks.Open (Var)
End Sub

Thanks,
Ogo
