Using any function

How can I feed a function with a column of numbers and get out a column of numbers like a clip feeds an automatic?

I don't want to rewrite the function 100 times. I have a little square where the input number goes in and another square where the output comes out. I don't want to duplicate the function that I made which is almost a page long.

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
Suppose I use the function sin(X)

I make a square (say B1) and put in it =sin(A1).

Then whenever I put a number in A1, the sine comes out at B1.

Now I can take a column of numbers which I put in column A and copy the sine function down column B and get the sine for all those numbers.

But my function cannot be put in one little square like sine(x).

so just pretend that I want to write =sin(A1) only once. But I want to get the same result as if I copied it 100 times down the column B.

Isn't there something that puts numbers into A1 and then takes them out of B1?

Many thanks. I have been looking hard for this. It works.

Now I am trying to make my old Excel 2002 do log-log plots of frequency response. It would be nice if I could throw in a second variable and get a surface plot. Is it possible or do I need a later Excel?

LOG-LOG graph

Is there a way to get a Y(X) log-log scatter plot where the plotted x coordinates are not just the input bins but the actual x quantities?

Hi

I'm glad you have your problem solved, but you forgot to post the link.

Someone may have the same problem and find this thread and the link will help.
