Using Cell Count in Range

I know this is really basic! I have a variable cnum that is the number of columns to use in my range but I am not sure of the syntax. Instead of saying range("D6:D" & rnum)...how do I use the cnum variable?
 

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Sort by date Sort by votes
Range("D6", Cells(100, cnum+3)) where 100 is the last row you want to include in your range.
