Using Countifs

I'm trying to use Countifs to count the number of FCOs assigned to a unit (F6, G1, G5) which are in "APPROVED" state & fall between certain dates. I have tried ). Any suggestions?

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
