Using IF to find a value in a list

I am trying to use the IF command to return a certain response if the value is contained in a list. For example if I have a list containing the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 and then I have a cell with a "5" in it. I want to create a formula that says look at the cell containing the 5 and if it is in my list return a "1" or else return a "0". I have tried many different approaches but have not been successful. Any ideas? Thanks.

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
If you append a string onto the end of a number, it becomes text, in this case Aladin is appending an empty string onto the end of the number to change it to text.
