Using MAX value in Pivot table

I cannot figure out how to get my pivot table to only pull the sales associated the MAX date. If I have 10 sales reps with many transactions and I want their last date sold data, I can put the rep in the row column and the date and sales amount in the value field and use MAX value field setting for the date. That works fine, but the sales is for all sales for that particular sales rep. I only want the sales associated with that last date the MAX setting found. It's wearing me out, any advice is appreciated.
