Using Named Ranges in Cell References?

I'm trying to tie Cell References to Named Ranges so that macros that use references aren't broken if columns are added or subtracted.

Here's the code I wrote that unfortunately doesn't work.

Sub Test()
Worksheets("Sheet1").Range("DestinationColumn").Value = Worksheets("Sheet1").Range("SourceColumn" & ActiveCell.Row).Value
End Sub

Also tried this without success:

Sub Test()
Sheets.Range("DestinationColumn").Value = Sheets.Range("SourceColumn" & ActiveCell.Row).Value
End Sub

I’m thinking the answer is no.
