I want to use the total in the totals row in one query in another query. Is there a way to do that?

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
How did you create a totals row in a query?

No, you can't use the totals row. You would need to create a query that has that field actually using the aggregate totals instead of the total row.

Norie - In Access 2010, there is a special TOTALS button on the Ribbon (HOME > RECORDS) when you are in the QBE Grid, that you press and then the word Total appears and then you click in the cell where the word TOTAL appears and then select the aggregation you want.

So another feature that's quite nice but not very practical.:)

Hi,

Excuse my noobness, but how would you if you could, reference this total in a Form?

Thx

I don't know that you can. I would have to wait until I get home tonight to test to see if it is even possible. I didn't check that last night. But there are other ways to get the total on a form. You can use an aggregate query instead or you can use a DSum as a control source for a text box.
