Hi everybody,

I need to validate some data that an user has to insert in three rows, I already have validated data; however, the user has to insert just one value in one of the three rows. I do not know how to limitate the user to insert in just one row, I have ms office 2010.

Thanks

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Hi, welcome to the board!

I used F1:F3 in this example.

Select cells F1:F3 and
Use a Data Validation formula like this:

=COUNTA($F$1:$F$3)=1

thank you for your answer, however, I would like to know if there is a way to forbid users to insert a number in the other two rows. I will be very grateful for any help.

kind regard

If you have applied the validation suggested by HOTPEPPER then the user can't enter (type in) anything in the other 2 cells.
