Guy's, the below is used to access a hummingbird platform. The moHostApp is used to access the application while the Exp is employed to send commands while the session is open. The variables are being declared of type HostExApplication and HostExHost. Can someone shed some light on these declaration types for me please. Are they held in the object library of set up by the programmer in the object library or are they inherent to the hummingbird application. Thanks in advance, one rather confused newby.

Private moHostApp As HostExApplication
Private moHostExp As HostExHost

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
These data types are not within the standard Excel, or Microsoft Office, or VB for Application Object Models; I guess they are defined by a specific library that has been "bound" to your vba to deal with your application.
You can inspect which "libraries" are bound to your project using, within the vba macro editor, the command Menu /Tools /References; this will open a box with the known libraries; some are "checked" and that means they are bound to your project and their data types can be used.
If your code with those declarations do not generate an error when you run your it then you probably have a non Microsoft library checked, in the list.

If you don't get the foreign library, list which are the checked names; or make a snapshot of your "available references" box and share it

Bye
