Hi everyone,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
I am creating a spreadsheet where the user needs to enter a value in a certain cell with a one precision (1.000) at one time and (1.00) at other times. Is there a way to do it in Excel 2003? I also would like to use the cell in a calculation. I made the cell a text, which allowed me to use them in a calculation, but I am faced with the same problem in the calculated cell. It does not show the last zero (I want 2.00-1.00 to give 1.00 instead of 1).<o:p></o:p>
Thanks<o:p></o:p>

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Hi!
Can you use the ROUND function?

i.e.:

<title>Excel Jeanie HTML</title>Sheet2

<table style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); padding-left: 2pt; padding-right: 2pt; font-family: Arial,Arial; font-size: 10pt;" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <colgroup> <col style="width: 30px; font-weight: bold;"> <col style="width: 96px;"> <col style="width: 64px;"> <col style="width: 64px;"></colgroup> <tbody> <tr style="text-align: center; background-color: rgb(202, 202, 202); font-size: 8pt; font-weight: bold;"> <td> </td> <td>B</td> <td>C</td> <td>D</td></tr> <tr style="height: 17px;"> <td style="text-align: center; background-color: rgb(202, 202, 202); font-size: 8pt;">3</td> <td style="text-align: right;">1.666666667</td> <td style="text-align: right;">1.667</td> <td style="text-align: right;">1.67</td></tr></tbody></table>
<table style="border-style: groove; border-color: rgb(0, 255, 0); background-color: rgb(255, 252, 249); font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt;"> <tbody> <tr> <td>Spreadsheet Formulas</td></tr> <tr> <td> <table style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 9pt;" border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr style="background-color: rgb(202, 202, 202); font-size: 10pt;"> <td>Cell</td> <td>Formula</td></tr> <tr> <td>C3</td> <td>=ROUND(B3,3)</td></tr> <tr> <td>D3</td> <td>=ROUND(C3,2)</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>
Hope this helps!

Can you use the ROUND function?

i.e.:

Thank you Nikki, however if my answer is 1.210 for example, it is reported as 1.21 and I would like to see that zero

Sorry, I think I missed something?
Can you number format the cells in combination with round?

<title>Excel Jeanie HTML</title><table style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); padding-left: 2pt; padding-right: 2pt; font-family: Arial,Arial; font-size: 10pt;" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <colgroup> <col style="width: 30px; font-weight: bold;"> <col style="width: 94px;"> <col style="width: 64px;"> <col style="width: 64px;"></colgroup> <tbody> <tr style="text-align: center; background-color: rgb(202, 202, 202); font-size: 8pt; font-weight: bold;"> <td> </td> <td>B</td> <td>C</td> <td>D</td></tr> <tr style="height: 17px;"> <td style="text-align: center; background-color: rgb(202, 202, 202); font-size: 8pt;">3</td> <td style="text-align: right;">1.212121212</td> <td style="text-align: right;">1.2120</td> <td style="text-align: right;">1.210</td></tr></tbody></table>
<table style="border-style: groove; border-color: rgb(0, 255, 0); background-color: rgb(255, 252, 249); font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt;"> <tbody> <tr> <td>Spreadsheet Formulas</td></tr> <tr> <td> <table style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 9pt;" border="1" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0"> <tbody> <tr style="background-color: rgb(202, 202, 202); font-size: 10pt;"> <td>Cell</td> <td>Formula</td></tr> <tr> <td>C3</td> <td>=ROUND(B3,3)</td></tr> <tr> <td>D3</td> <td>=ROUND(B3,2)</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table>
