Any recommendations on a book to learn VBA that is easy to understand and use

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I've seen this book recommended quite often, but have never read it personally or any VBA book for that fact. So take it for what its worth.

"VBA and Macros for Microsoft Excel" by Bill Jelen (Mr. Excel)

Hi,

I have found it best of all the lots i tried... The best part is it makes you record a macro first, and then points out the drawbacks in recording... then the ways how to edit the recorded macro so that it works everytime you use ...

After the initial chapters it goes into more details... Really good book for starters.

You can also try John Walkenbach's Power Programming series.

Hope this helps you.

Just read both the recommendations above!

I've found them both very helpful in the beginning stage - Excel VBA Programming for Dummies by Walkenbach is better for a real first book; and VBA and Macros for Microsoft Excel will really make you feel like a pro.

Read the same book in that series on Excel formulas (formulas and functions with Microsoft Excel - business solutions) because you need to understand Excel if you are going to program it well...
