Hey,

I have a very complex file, lots of VBA that i have taken over from someone else. I am trying to lock Column E8:E100 if the cell is not blank on a milestone tab (e.g if there is text in column E8:E100 lock the cell so no one can change it. I have tried lots and cant get it working!

I have separate VBA to lock and unlock the worksheet.

Any help much appreciated :)

Thanks,

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
This does it but remember that all cells start with locked selected but nothing happens till the worksheet is protected

VBA Code:
Dim Aloop As Long

Sub LockCellIfBlank()

For Aloop = 8 To 100
    If IsEmpty(Range("E" & Aloop).Value) Then Range("E" & Aloop).Locked = True
Next Aloop

End Sub
