i am trying to assign the open workbook to a variable.

the varible is named "wbTimesheet"

i have it dim as a workbook.

Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
You have all the pieces there!

Dim wbTimesheet as New Workbook

Set wbTimesheet = activeworkbook
