Hi all,

I'm trying to use VBA to extract a string between two spaces.

Cell G3 = "Period: 2016-1-26 To 2016-12-26"

I want to return the first date in cell G3 (2016-1-26)

The problem is that the date isn't always the same length because the months and days don't include leading zeros.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
This would do that:

=TRIM(MID(SUBSTITUTE(G3," ",REPT(" ",LEN(G3))),LEN(G3),LEN(G3)))
