Can anyone recomend a good book about learning visual basic. I'm tired of searching the net for small bits and pieces of code and using the macro record feature.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
A basic book for getting started that I would recommend is the Master Visually Series Excel VBA Programming.
There are many screen shots... and the book covers a simple task in two pages... this makes it easy to go back and reference too.

Not very advanced... but it goes through the basics and is great for someone just starting to learn VBA. Discusses with blocks... loops... gets into forms... and has a lot of info on manupulating sheets and ranges.
Plus it's only about $25.
