I need to do a lookup on a term and return a value. However, if the term I lookup is in A1, the value I need to return is in B2. If the term is in A3, the value is in B4. This persists for the entire workbook. Is there an easy way to execute this lookup?

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.

Try this...

D1 = lookup value

=INDEX(B2:B4,MATCH(D1,A1:A3,0))

Note how the ranges are offset.
