Hi, I have written a macro that performs a vlookup. Originally, the column of data that vlookup uses was soley numerical, however, now, I need it to be a text column (with some numbers and some text). From my reading, it seems that vlookup should still work, however, it is not working. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
After an exchange of email, it is a text-to-numeric problem. The proposed solution is, in the file having text-based lookup targets, to modify the macro lines reading

"=VLOOKUP(A1,...

to read as

"=VLOOKUP(--A1,

thereby converting the text key to a numeric.

Actually, you can make that change to BOTH macros, for unity's sake, if you want. [Will have no effect on the one, as A1 is already numeric.]
