Vlookup Problems

Hi All,

Having a really weird problem this is the vlookup formula I'm using:

=VLOOKUP(C27,'[Fuel Cards and Assigned To Names.xls]Sheet1'!$A$1:$B$24,2,FALSE)

However, when i drag this formula down to the other cells beneath it keeps repeating the same data in the first column.

I don't think it's a problem with referencing as $ signs have been used to avoid this problem. Moreover if I press the fx (function Key) from the excel toolbar it displays the correct values so the formula and referencing seem to be ok but it might be a problem with the auto fill function or somehting if anyone has any idea what to do to solve this then I will be ever so grateful to you.

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Try this:

=VLOOKUP($C27,'[Fuel Cards and Assigned To Names.xls]Sheet1'!$A$1:$B$24,2,0)

What values are in C27 ? where is the match found in your data...is it column A or B ?

Also, if it does not work...post a screen of your worksheet with the above formula and relevant data.

Did you set Calculation to Automatic under Tools|Options?
