vlookup result showing 0

I use vlookup all the time. can't figure this out. a vlookup result is showing 0 rather than the correct data. Reference sheet is showing data. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

What is the formula you invoke?

=VLOOKUP(L10,'[RPT0074_new GRID.xls]Inventory'!$1:$65536,3,FALSE)

Yes, that's what I meant.

So the problem appears to be that there is a value of L10 with which a value from column C on Inventory (in RPT0074_new GRID.xls) is associated and that associated value is not a 0 or an empty cell, while the formula returns a 0. Right?

Your lookup key is in the middle of your lookup range thats why you get a 0 instead of #N/A

Move it change it do something
