is there a way to return multiple values for a lookup in the same cell?

this wouldn't ever happen, but let's say an employee ID of 2 contained the names Sally and John.

if you perform a lookup on the ID of 2 to another table containing the names, only the first value would display.

is it possible to return Sally and John in the same cell?

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
in sheet 1 data like this

Excel Workbook
ABC
1idnamename
21ab
32sallyjohn
43cd
Sheet1

in sheet 2 given below see the formula in B2

in that formula there is space both before and after "and"

Excel Workbook
AB
1idname
22sally and john
Sheet2

if there are more than two names better to have a macro

Care to specify the table range and the cell housing the lookup value?
